We are a Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) Academy dedicated to the practice and research of HEMA/Historical fencing.
We are based in Singapore, with close ties with the international HEMA community, in addition to pioneering a regional online sub-community for Asia and Southeast Asia.
We aim to build a strong HEMA community in Singapore and Asia as a whole, by nurturing a new generation of HEMA practitioners of competitive and academic focuses through research, international cooperation and exchange.
The our focus is on German and Bolognese sources from the 15th and 16th Centuries, such as:
- MS Dresd.C.487 – ‘The Ringeck Fechtbuch’
- Codex 44.A.8 or MS 1449 – ‘Codex Danzig’
- Cgm 582 – ‘Lecküchner’
- Gründtliche Beschreibung der Kunst des Fechtens (1570) by Joachim Meyer
- Dell’Arte di Scrima Libri Tre (1572) by Giovanni dall’Agocchie
We currently focus on Longsword, Messer and Sidesword.
Our club activities do not involve any form of medieval reenactment, cosplay or live action roleplay (LARP).
